WHAT IS SOFTWAVE TRT?SoftWave TRT stands for SoftWave Tissue Regeneration Technologies. SoftWave TRT is the company that offers the only unfocused true shock wave technology device.

WHAT DOES A SOFTWAVE THERAPY PROCEDURE LOOK LIKE?Dr. Colgin or a team member will apply a gel to the surface area that is going to be treated. The SoftWave TRT applicator is gently applied to the skin. You will hear a clicking sound as your Dr. Colgin moves around the treatment area. During therapy, you communicate with Dr. Colgin/team member to identify treatment areas and monitor progress.

IS SHOCKWAVE THERAPY WITH SOFTWAVE TRT PAINFUL?Patients may experience mild discomfort or soreness shortly after treatment, but typically don’t complain of treatment pain.

IS SHOCKWAVE THERAPY WITH SOFTWAVE TRT EFFECTIVE?SoftWave therapy has been shown to be very effective at treating multiple different conditions. Depending on the treatment type, studies show success rates of up to 99%.

WHAT IS STEMWAVE THERAPY?‘Stemwave therapy‘ is a phrase commonly used by SoftWaveTRT providers that typically refers to extracorporeal shock wave therapy using a SoftWaveTRT device. The terms ‘stemwave therapy’ and ‘SoftWave therapy’ are often used interchangeably.

HOW LONG IS A SOFTWAVE THERAPY TREATMENT?Each individual session of SoftWave therapy only takes 5-15 minutes and is typically recommended to be done on a once to twice a week basis for 3-5 weeks. Each condition that is treated with SoftWave TRT is unique and may require more or less treatment time. Most patients experience improvement after the very first session.

CAN SOFTWAVE THERAPY BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH OTHER TREATMENTS?Yes, it can, however it is up to Dr. Colgin's clinical expertise. We found SoftWave therapy to be effective on its own, but it has also been shown to be even more effective when combined with other forms of therapy, including non-surgical spinal decompression therapy. laser therapy, physical therapy, chiropractic, massage, soft tissue mobilization, etc.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS ASSOCIATED WITH SOFTWAVE THERAPY?SoftWave therapy does not cause any bruising or swelling. For some, redness and soreness can occur, but usually subsides in a day or two.

WHO PERFORMS SHOCKWAVE THERAPY WITH SOFTWAVE TRT?SoftWave therapy can be performed by anyone in our practice that has been properly trained by SoftWave TRT. At this present time, Dr. Colgin is the provider of SoftWave TRT.

HOW LONG DOES SOFTWAVE THERAPY TREATMENT TAKE TO SHOW IMPROVEMENT?Often times immediately, yet the best outcomes occur roughly 6-12 weeks after the last treatment.

IS SHOCKWAVE THERAPY NEW?Shockwave therapy has been around for quite a while. Shockwave therapy is the standard of care for soft tissue injuries in Europe and has been a non-surgical option in the U.S. for over 20 years. Increased study and documentation over time has lead to increased adoption of shockwave therapy in multiple fields of use.

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS RIGHT AFTER TREATMENT?It's best to follow Dr. Colgin's instructions and you should not take any pain medicine or engage in any activities that would aggravate the injured area.

WHAT IS EXTRACORPOREAL SHOCK WAVE THERAPY? (ESWT)Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment of soft tissue, bone, heel, and joint pain that uses shock waves to stimulate cells and promote healing.

IS SOFTWAVE THERAPY COVERED BY INSURANCE?At this time, insurance does not pay for this treatment or this treatment is classified as non-reimbursable by health insurance.
